Get ready to be “Hella Lit” according to rapper Lusive in his new song from his mixtape The Interlude. For those who don’t know, Lusive “is a young urban man that is true to music and will prove to all, he is the next ‘star’ that will lead courageously.” He “started recording new music all over New York City by the age of 17 and dropped countless music videos since 2008. Seventeen Magazine introduced Lusive as an artist in 2005. In 2011, he finished his successful underground album called Up in Smoke. Lusive released his solo LP Stereotype in February 2012 and, in 2013, released The Freelance mixtape.” Towards the beginning of 2015, Lusive released his single ‘Ain’t in My Way,’ which is off his recently released mixtape The Interlude.
I interviewed the North East Bronx native at the beginning of 2016 and he revealed that one of his favorite songs from The Interlude is “Hella Lit,” which is his next single that’s now available on Itunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, Soundcloud, DatPiff, and Audiomack! In my opinion, “Hella Lit” is an amazing song that will instantly make you mouth the chorus and even dance if you’re up for it. Lusive says that he felt like he was “re-recording ‘Aint in My Way’ again” when he recorded “Hella Lit.”
According to Lusive, the new single is “a turn up song similar to the crunk vibes you would get from hearing a Lil’ Jon ‘BIA BIA’ or ‘Get Low’ and Lusive’s smooth tone and high energy are only two components of the song designed to rid you of all problems.” He “discusses hood love, enjoying vices and making his own lane regardless of anyone trying to stop him….‘Hella Lit’ is both a positive and hype song creating a world of fun for those trying to live life and get lit.”
Lusive recently released the music video for “Hella Lit” and it is everything you expected it to be–a night that seems HELLA LIT! Check out the music video to Lusive’s “Hella Lit” below.
