After releasing his LP The Interlude not too long ago, Lusive is back with a remix of French Montana & Drake’s hit song “No Shopping.” For those who aren’t familiar with Lusive, he is a North East Bronx native rapper who is on his way to stardom. He “started recording new music all over New York City by the age of 17 and dropped countless music videos since 2008. Seventeen Magazine introduced Lusive as an artist in 2005. In 2011, he finished his successful underground album, Up in Smoke. Lusive released his solo LP Stereotype in February 2012 and, in 2013, released The Freelance mixtape.”
In late 2014, Lusive made headlines when he released “Rally,” a single about the unequal treatment of African Americans, police brutality, and just about having a peaceful protest–#RallyDontRiot in a city you are in. At the end of the song, Lusive even shouts out Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown. He says he “wants his music to reach the world, bringing the youth and old together to help promote equal rights and positivity.”
At the beginning of 2016, Lusive released The Interlude, which features “Ain’t in My Way” and his recent single, “Hella Lit.” While he creates more amazing music to be released soon, Lusive teased fans with his own version of “No Shopping.” He delivers bars and ill flows to the uptempo hip/trap beat produced by Murda Beatz.
