Check out our interview with Stanton where she discusses how she became part of From The Bottom Up, which of her books is her favorite, what’s next for her, and more below.
1-Growing up, did you always know that you wanted to be a writer?
When I was twelve years old, I read about a poetry contest in the back of a Reader’s Digest magazine. I entered it because I always had a love for poetry and to my surprise, I won. My poem was published in a book that was mailed to me six weeks later. So, I guess you can say that was the beginning of my writing career.
2-Out of all your books, which is your favorite?
Life of a Real Housewife would have to be my favorite. I say that because it’s my personal memoir and I was able to release things into the atmosphere that had been haunting me for years. Old wounds were healed, and I’m a new person today because of my WRITE to HEAL.
3-How did you become part of From The Bottom Up?
I woke up one day, in September of 2018, checked my email and there was a request from production. I hopped on it! It happened really quick and I’m glad I made the decision.
4-Were you a fan of the show before joining?
I had not heard of the show before but I did my research after I was contacted and felt that it would be a great fit for me.
5-Were you reluctant to do reality TV?
Not really because when I wrote Lies of a Real Housewife, I had already put my whole life out there so this didn’t seem that much different.
6-What was your first day of filming like?
I was a little anxious and somewhat overwhelmed but overall, it was a memorable experience.
7-What do you hope viewers will understand about you from watching the show?
I hope that people will learn from my life lessons. I made some wrong decisions in the past and I fight every day to correct them. I want people to see that it’s not easy but if you refuse to give up you’ll eventually catch your dreams.
8-What can fans expect from season three of From The Bottom Up?
Real reality! This show isn’t about who’s the biggest boss, who has the most money, or who lives in the biggest house. This docu-series is about the real struggle single mothers, some felons, and some not but what they go through trying to get back on track.
9-What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career as an author?
Go for it! No one can tell your story better than you. Use your past life lessons to help others and free yourself from years of mental baggage. Also, contact my publishing company. We make publishing affordable, and we give authors life myself a platform to tell their stories. Stanton Publishing House, the home of reality books. 10-What is NEXT for Angela Stanton?
A movie about my life, an upcoming book tour for my new book Dismissed with Prejudice, which covers the frivolous litigation of Phaedra Parks vs. Angela Stanton. You get to read witness testimony, sworn depositions, and sanctions ordered by the judge. It’s really juicy but it also details my fight for the right to tell my own story.
