Said best by director and producer Ivan Reitman, “A good actor is someone who knows how to take the part and make it real and make it honest and be effective in it” and Lisa Berry truly exemplifies this quote. Born and raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Lisa is an international actress whose impressive resume includes Netflix’s Slasher: Solstice, Freeform’s Shadow Hunters, ABC’s Designated Survivor, and The Colony, a film that also stars Laurence Fishburne, Bill Paxton, and Kevin Zegers. Lisa also stars as Billie(also known as Death) in The CW’s Supernatural, a successful series that will end after its upcoming fifteenth season.

1-When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue an acting career?
When I almost booked a role in Lion King: The Musical. Even though I didn’t get it just the idea that one could make a living doing this stuff had me in theatre school the next year and the rest is herstory. 😉
2-Who is your favorite actor/actress?
Maev Beaty. Not a household name, yet! But I’ve seen her in so many shows and think she’s a force. The kind of actor who undoubtedly makes your better.
3-Out of all your roles, which is your favorite?
Death. To play such an iconic character in mythology is a gift. And what I love most is that even though she’s an omnipotent being, with her own point of view and intention, she’s still learning how to navigate the cosmic universal realms. A beautiful reminder that no one escapes growth.
4-How did you become part of Slasher: Solstice?
I auditioned, which is how most actors get work. What made this one a little different was I was filming another show at the same time. So, my brain was quite full.
5-Are there any similarities between you and your character, Roberta?
We’ve both made mistakes. We’re both driven to do better now that we know better. And we both believe everyone matters.
6-If the show came back for a fourth season, would be up for returning?
Absolutely! I LOVE working with that entire team. Plus, I didn’t get enough playtime with Paula Brancati(aka Violet).
7-You’re also part of the successful Supernatural, which is ending after its 15 seasons. How does it feel being part of a show which a huge following attached to it?
This show changed my life. I’ve met people that now hold a very dear place in my heart.
8-On your official website, you do a spiritual newsletter for fans, which is beautiful. How did you first start doing the newsletter?
A lot of times, I get a message from people sharing how much I’ve inspired them, but the truth is they’re the ones who inspire me. They’re a part of my spiritual growth and self-exploration now. They keep me real with my words, actions, and how I’m developing as a human being. It’s a full-circle kind of thing.
9-What is your dream role?
When I first started out, I had dream roles. But now I just want to be a part of projects with heart and vision.
10-What is NEXT for Lisa Berry?
You can find me on Netflix on shows like Bad Blood, Designated Survivor, and Departure on Universal TV UK and the Secrets of the Sisterhood with Lifetime.
