Renowned Christian author, ethicist, and theologian Lewis B. Smedes once said, “…Why do family feuds go on and on?…the reason is simple: no two people, no two families, ever weigh pain on the same scale.” For the two main characters in the new short film In This House, this quote strongly applies. Written, produced, and edited by Cassia Jones, In This House follows unlikely sisters Billie and Gracie-Lynn who, after their mothers death, are forced to confront issues of resentment, jealousy, and a decades old family secret. Cassia stars in the project alongside Katie Lee, Tiera Dashae, Jason Mimms, Cydney Gooch, Sophia Robertson, and Jennifer Palumbo.

Recently, I had the chance to view In This House and I was amazed from the very beginning to the end. Without spoiling anything, I finished the short film with a renewed feeling of love, care, and just overall happiness for my family. All families have their flaws, both individually and as a group. However, the key is to really accept your family members for who they are as they should with you. While the cast & crew are phenomenal, I was most amazed at Cassia’s experience with the filming process for In This House. Let’s just say that she literally put her blood, sweat, and tears into this project and it truly shows in the final product.
