While the world is currently going through a pandemic, some individuals are looking to binge watch as much shows as possible while being quarantined at home. With so many options to choose from, one amazing web series that should be added to the list is Reckless Behavior the Series. Written, directed, produced, and created by Michaela Shelton, Reckless Behavior the Series tells the story of Michaela Holloway, a post college black millennial and aspiring writer, who navigates through life, attempting to find herself and avoid reckless behavior. Starring Shelton, the web series also features Gary “G Biz” Bizer, Chris Joseph, Shamari Bell, Twan Taylor, Dominique Montgomery, Diviniti Smith, Ryan Vernon, Imani Baylor, and many more.
I had the pleasure of watching Reckless Behavior the Series and it’s definitely a project to be binge watched for sure. Shelton states that “the purpose of this web series is to create something for us and by us that promotes the beauty and culture of the Bay Area.” She continues that the web series’ “dual purpose is to bring to life the Reckless Behavior the Series blog series,” which Shelton created four years ago via Queens Media Collective. The web series has also received critical acclaim. Popular Bay Area radio station 106.1 KMEL has mentioned Reckless Behavior the Series, as well as other podcasts and publications. Reckless Behavior the Series has also been selected for viewing at the 2020 Pan African Film and Arts Festival, which is the largest and most prestigious black film festival in America.
